What does it mean to fill a bucket? It means that you do something for someone else that makes them feel good or helps them out. We aren't doing a great job of recognizing people who fill our buckets in our class.
I know every one of you deserves a bucket slip. Let’s try to pump each other up by recognizing when we fill each other’s buckets. Bucket slips are in the cup by check-in. Now, don’t be silly and just write something to write something. For example, don't write down that Joe filled your bucket by saying "Good morning." So keep your eyes and ears open for someone filling your bucket, or, take a risk and fill someone else's bucket.
So many of you who participated in the States and Capitals challenge did a wonderful job! You worked so hard to learn them. Just think of how much smarter you are today than you were on the first day of school!
With so many exciting things going on in our classroom, it's hard to keep up. We have started using Biblonasium to keep track of our reading. Soon you can recommend books and talk to each other about what you are reading.
I am also looking into creating blogs for each of you. This would allow us to be able to post our writing and get feedback from each other as well as people outside of the classroom.
